Insight Data Engineering Fellows Program applications open for September 2014
Today we are announcing the opening of applications for the September 2014 session of the Insight Data Engineering Fellows Program. Insight is a free, full-time, six week program based in Silicon Valley that helps engineers and computer scientists transition to a career in big data engineering. Data engineers from Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Yelp, Square, Microsoft, Intuit, AT&T, Climate Corporation, Beats Music, Jawbone, RelateIQ and Airbnb will be mentoring and hiring from the program. Additionally, community leaders from open-source projects such as Apache Storm, Apache Spark and Apache Cassandra will be mentoring as well.
The Insight Data Engineering Fellowship is open to anyone with a strong background in engineering or computer science fundamentals, coming from positions in industry or directly from bachelors, masters, or PhD programs. For instance, Data Engineering Fellows, in the session currently in progress, have backgrounds in software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering and computer science and are coming from both professional and academic roles. If you are selected to be an Insight Fellow you will join an alumni network of over 100 data engineers and data scientists, from the Insight Data Science (for scientists) and Insight Data Engineering Programs (for engineers).
The Insight Data Engineering Fellows Program in a nutshell:
- 6 week, full-time, professional data engineering training fellowship in Silicon Valley.
- Free program, with need-based travel and living expense scholarships available.
- Self-directed, project-based learning (no classes!) under the guidance of top industry data engineer mentors.
- Professional network of over 100 Insight alumni who are data scientists and data engineers.
- Interview and get hired at mentor companies immediately following completion of the program.
